Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2025

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use Morse Code Translator (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: the tools themselves process everything locally in your browser and send nothing to us; the Site is supported by advertising, and our advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies as described below.

Information processed locally (never sent to us)

Text you type into the translator, tap decoder or practice trainer, audio you generate, charts you download and your practice scores are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They are not transmitted to our servers or to anyone else. Your preferences (theme, playback speed and tone, tap sensitivity, practice level and score) are stored in your browser's localStorage so they persist between visits. You can delete them at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

Information we collect

We do not require accounts and do not ask for personal information to use the Site. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, referring page, pages requested and timestamps — for security and to keep the Site running. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify individuals.

If you contact us by email, we will keep your message and address for as long as needed to respond and for our records.

Cookies and advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and device identifiers) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Where required by law (for example in the EU/EEA and UK), you will be shown a consent message before advertising cookies are set, and you may change your choice at any time.

For more information see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand which pages are popular. These measurements do not use cookies and do not track you across websites. If we add any analytics that uses cookies, this policy will be updated first.

Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data about you, to object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold almost no personal data — generally only server logs and any email you send us — most requests can be resolved quickly; contact us using the details below.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood, but the use of advertising cookies by third parties may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. You may opt out using the links in the “Cookies and advertising” section above, or by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honour.

EU/EEA and UK residents: our legal basis for processing server logs is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website; for advertising cookies it is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time via the consent message or the links above.

Children

The Site is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Articles may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please review their policies.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Because your text never leaves your browser, the most sensitive data — what you translate — is never exposed to us or to the network at all.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised; material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
